I’m so excited to share this post with everyone as my DIY Vogue gallery wall is one of my favorite parts of our entire place. Not only is it super cool, it is SUPER easy to do. I’m not your typical girly girl, but what girl doesn’t love Vogue!? It’s an iconic brand known by many as “the fashion bible”. Over the last few years, I had seen a number of pieces of art portraying the Vogue brand, but over and over again I was completely turned off by the price tag. I had this vision in my head of a wall covered in Vogue prints. Unfortunately, my wallet wasn’t as big as my vision. However, while doing a google search, I came across this book: Vogue: The Covers.
This book includes “more than 300 of the most beautiful, provocative, and fashion-forward covers ever produced.” After finding this online, I immediately ran over to Barnes & Nobles and snatched up the book. I had a great idea brewing in my head when I read that this book included photos of iconic Vogue covers, but until I got the book in my hands, I wasn’t sure if it was just an idea or a real possibility. As soon as I opened the book, I immediately knew that it was EXACTLY what I needed! All I needed to do was go through the book, find my favorite covers and rip that page out of the book! Yep, you read that right. I cut out the pages of my favorite covers and got them all lined up on the floor. I laid them out exactly how I wanted them on the wall and started to get excited. At this point, I figured worst case scenario was I still had a great coffee table book that was just short a few pages :-).
The next step was to head to my local craft store and purchase frames for these beauties. I made my way to Michaels and found the perfect white frames. As a side note, the term Michaels in my household is jokingly sacreligious. My fiance runs a crafting company that was recently purchased by a large craft retail chain on the East Coast called A.C. Moore. He is now heading up their E-commerce division and will soon be offering all their supplies online. If you live on the East Coast, I recommend going to AC MOORE for your frames :-). If you are reading this in the summer of 2018 or later, I recommend going to Acmoore.com. In the meantime, I would say hit up your local craft store (sorry Ryan)! I went with a whitewashed frame, with white background, but you can choose any type or color frame you would like.
Once I picked up all the frames, it was as simple as placing the cut out pages into the frame and being super proud of myself for making such a cool piece of wall art for so little $. The final step was hanging these up on the wall. Here is where I used another trick – instead of putting nails into the wall and trying to line them up perfectly that way, I decided to use double-sided tape! I purchased these 3m adhesive squares and put them on all 4 corners of the frame. It was as simple as sticking them up on the wall nice and straight.
Now what are you waiting for? Go pick up that book for $35 (or the second edition below), find some affordable frames, and make a wall that will turn heads! We currently have this as an accent wall in our walk in closet which we think is a super fitting location for an iconic fashion brand!
